Animal Flow is a mix of elements from various disciplines, combined with the movement performed on the ground, in quadrupedal, using only the weight of your body as a training tool. Mobility, Flexibility, Strength and Endurance. Anywhere, however, without tools.
Animal Flow starts and develops from a range of movements and combinations of them called “Six components”. Each component is designed to achieve specific results. The six components can be combined in many different ways, allowing you to include one, some or all of them in your workouts

THE SIX COMPONENTS

MOBILIZATION OF THE WRIST
Wrist mobilizations are simple but fundamental movements to prepare hands and wrists for Animal Flow movements. Prepared wrists are very important to the success of both beginners and experienced Flow-ists, which is why it is the first of six components.

SPECIFIC STRETCHING FORMS
The goal of these forms is to stimulate a combination of flexibility and stability (ie mobility) throughout the body, building “strength through movement”. Each FSS (FORM SPECIFIC STRETCHES) starts in one of the basic positions and moves through and to various final moves. These movements can be used as conditioning tools or integrated into flows.

SWITCHES & TRANSITIONS
The S&T are the core of the “flow” in AF practice. These are dynamic movements that can be linked together to form infinite combinations or can be used alone as powerful exercises. The four basic S&T categories are Underswitch, Side Kickthrough, Scorpion, and Front Kickthrough.

ACTIVATION
It is also a way to bring awareness to your body and its interaction with the ground. The AF practice uses two activation positions, Beast and Crab, which are fundamental forms in the overall program.

TRAVELING FORMS
Traveling forms are animal locomotor movements. They represent how we imitate animals to improve the function of the “human animal”. The basic traveling forms are known as the ABC of animal movements: Ape, Beast and Crab, along with their variations.

FLOWS
Flows are predefined sequences in which movements are linked together to create a continuous series of movement. Learning a flow for the first time can be a workout in itself, it is advisable to practice each movement separately before putting them together in the flow. After learning a flow, you can decide how to use it, as a complete workout or integrate it into your workout. How you get the most out of your flow is up to you.
The benefits of Animal Flow
Those who practice Animal Flow find many benefits and not necessarily have to be particularly articulate or very young, since the exercises are calibrated and chosen according to the level of the group that trains and in any case can be followed with greater or lesser precision or intensity.
The advantages that this kind of training offers are different:
- improve mindful movements
- increase muscle endurance and strength
- increase the flexibility and mobility of the body
- improve coordination
- maintain a healthy weight
- increase energy
To obtain them, however, a little consistency is required. You should train at least a couple of times a week.
